The conversion of a Grade II listed building into meeting space with 9 new bedrooms and a new 33 bedroom Travelodge.

Negotiations with the local planning authority were extremely complex and protracted and included an Archaelogical survey of the site.

Although the site had been partially remediated prior to aquisition, we undertook further remediation works to prepare the site for the proposed hotel development.

These works proved to be a considerable challenge. Unforeseen ground water, contamination, buried obstructions and generally inadequate load bearing strata. With determination and no little effort these problems were all overcome and the structure and envelope works were able to proceed.

Towcester Racecourse Ltd , New Grandstand

Anglo Holt were selected to design and construct a new racecourse grandstand to a tight concept design to brief to provide a betting hall, restaurant, corporate boxes and all the latest facilities for stewards, judges and race observation cameras.

The new grandstand is part of Towcester's continued investment to bring the racecourse up to an extremely high standard achieved by only a handful of other courses nationally.

As the racecourse is situated within the grounds of Lord Hesketh's estate, it was important to ensure a high quality facility which would not be out of place in the rural location.
